Bryce Holtry has been playing violin for 40 years.  He started fiddling in Nampa, Idaho and competed at state regional and national fiddle contests.  Over the years, he has won several awards before attempting the world of classical style playing.  Bryce has a performance degree from Western Washington University and is currently the principal 2nd violinist with the Treasure Valley Symphony Orchestra.  With his fun personality and dedicated teaching style, Bryce is one of the best instructors in our area!

Matt Gilman

 Many may recognize Matt from the Ontario School District Music Department.  He is a certified music teacher with a M.M. in Conducting from the American Band College and a B.A. in Music  from Utah State University.  He has studied Wind Ensemble Conducting with Marcellus Brown, and Mike Bankhead. Matt has also performed on several different instruments with Boise's Treasure Valley Concert Band, the Idaho National Guard's 25th Army Band, the Salt Lake Symphonic Winds, and most recently, the Treasure Valley Symphony.

Shelly Gilman

Certified Music Therapist

Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced Clarinet

Shelly Gilman is a board certified music therapist and owner of Healing Rhythm Music Therapy, LLC.  She graduated from Utah State University in 1998 with honors, earning a Bachelor of Science in Music Therapy.   She completed her clinical internship at the University of Utah Neuropsychiatric Institute, where she worked with people who had acute and chronic mental illnesses. She has worked with various populations including children and teens with special needs, elderly clients with Alzheimer’s and dementia, and adults with mental illnesses. Since moving to the Treasure Valley in 1999, Shelly has been active in the music community, playing clarinet in the Treasure Valley Symphony and the Treasure Valley Wind Symphony, as well as solo and ensemble work.  Having children with special needs herself, Shelly understands some of the challenges of being a special needs parent in a personal way.  Shelly is a Family Liaison for Malheur County, helping to link families with support.  She is mother to 4 children and her husband Matt is the director of bands at Ontario High School and an adjunct at TVCC.
